Tom Macon
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Macon is the founder of Grantham Education Corporation (formerly The Level Playing Field® Corporation) and has served as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since its inception in November 1999. In 1990, Mr. Macon founded a specialty coffee company that owned, operated and managed specialty retail coffee outlets similar to Starbucks. The company expanded from a single location to a very successful multi-unit chain, and was sold in 1999. Prior to 1990, Mr. Macon held a variety of sales and sales management positions with Coca Cola Foods, Con Agra, and Mutual of Omaha. Mr. Macon also formed a business consulting practice in 1995 that specialized in developing strategic marketing, business development and turn-around strategies for a variety of industries.
