kansas city star logoMarch 30, 2007 - Grantham University, specializing in educating working adults, today announced it is offering Army National Guard Scholarships.

In conjunction with GX® magazine, a nationwide publication for members of the National Guard and their families, Grantham University is providing one full, four-year scholarship to an Army National Guard member in each of the 50 states and four U.S. territories including DC, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The scholarship will cover: tuition costs, required textbooks and software. The value of each scholarship is approximately $34,000.

"We are very excited to partner with GX® magazine to offer this scholarship program to members of the Army National Guard in honor of their sacrifice and service to their state and our country," said Tom Macon, chairman of Grantham University. "We fully support the Army National Guard's education mission to encourage its members to pursue higher education. Grantham's goal is to benefit soldiers and their families by providing the opportunity to further their education at no cost."

Applications for scholarships must be received by May 31, 2007 and the winners will be announced in August 2007. For more information on the scholarship program and eligibility requirements, please visit www.grantham.edu/educatetheguard/.

Applicants must be a high school graduate or GED recipient. They must have served in the Army National Guard for a minimum of one year and be in good standing with the Guard.

Additionally, Grantham University offers military scholarships for active duty, reserve, guard, veterans and military family members as well as scholarships for law enforcement personnel. Grantham's Military Scholarship covers the cost of required books, software and the tuition remaining after Military Tuition Assistance benefits have been applied.

"For more than 50 years, Grantham University has been meeting the educational needs of the military community, and the Army National Guard Scholarship program is a continuation of this effort," adds Macon.
